FGV participates in manager recruitment and training program in Cape Verde
The Executive Manager of the Center for Cooperation with Africa and Portugal (NuCAP) of FGV’s International Affairs Division (DINT), Marcus Vinicius Rodrigues, attended a meeting with the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, José Ulisses Correia e Silva, in Cidade da Praia. The purpose of the meeting was to invite FGV to participate in the leader, manager, professor, and investigator recruitment and training program for the country’s public and private sectors.
The government of Cape Verde created a program to promote national scientific and technological capacity by strengthening companies and academic institutions, besides promoting cooperation among internationally-renowned institutions. Based on this goal, the government approved a resolution in late June establishing the ‘Global Cape Verde Scholarship’ program, which will be funded by the country’s government with the support of international funds. The goal is to facilitate partnerships that enhance program offerings at an international level.
FGV was one of the first institutions to be invited. The process is currently underway and the Cape Verdean government is represented by the Minister of Education, Maritza Rosabal.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister recognized FGV’s excellence and recalled the Cape Verdean people trained at the institution, including several executives and government officials, including the former Prime Minister, José Maria Neves, who studied at São Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP).
