RAE - Journal of Business Management celebrates 55th anniversary

RAE - Revista de Administração de Empresas (Journal of Business Management) published by FGV’s Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP) is celebrating its 55th anniversary in 2017.

RAE - Revista de Administração de Empresas (Journal of Business Management) published by FGV’s Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP) is celebrating its 55th anniversary in 2017. After more than half a century since its creation, the journal has become one of the main study and research benchmarks in the field of administration, currently ranked as the sixth most accessed journal at the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) – an electronic repository featuring a selected collection of Brazilian journals – and first place in the field of Applied Social Sciences, with more than three million accesses a year.

“Since 1976, EAESP’s Administration PhD program has fed the RAE with several research projects conducted in Brazil for many years. Today, the RAE has become an international journal, receiving contributions from authors around the world. Around half of the articles published last year were in English. It gives us great pride to maintain and support the RAE as we have so far. It is our way to contribute towards the development of research in Brazil, in line with FGV’s mission”, said the dean of EAESP, Professor Luiz Artur Ledur Brito.

Over the coming week, more light will be shed on the relevance of RAE as a major channel to promote research in the field of administration. SciELO created a special tribute with testimonials from important names who helped write the journal’s history throughout the years.  The special content will be available through videos at the SciELO in Perspective | Humanities blog.

The journal’s editor-in-chief, Maria José Tonelli, speaks about the importance of communication initiatives to promote the contents of journals. Featuring articles published in the latest edition, Eduardo Henrique Diniz talks about the internationalization of scientific journals, and José Eduardo Ricciardi Favaretto and Eduardo de Rezende Francisco present the results and some fun facts regarding the bibliometric study involving the journal’s collection.

In a conversation with Tonelli, professors Tales Andreassi and Edgard Barki talk about entrepreneurship, which has recently become a hot topic among academia and organizations. In addition, the Special Week also features the Dean of EAESP, Luiz Artur Ledur Brito, and professors Carlos Osmar Bertero, Ely Laureano Paiva, and Eliane Zamith Brito.

The RAE is also launching a brand new section, titled Perspectives, featuring Salomão Alencar de Farias and Rafael Alcadipani. This section focuses on discussing new ideas, featuring two articles covering a topic of current interest, which may have complementary or opposing points of view.

Follow the RAE Special Week between August 28 and September 1 via the SciELO in Perspective | Humanities blog.
