    The Digital Humanities Lab from FGV´s School of Social Sciences (FGV CPDOC) and Columbia Global Center in Rio de Janeiro, invite to the open lecture with historian Matthew Connelly, who will speak about the Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and experimental methods impact on the field of History and Social Sciences.

    The professor of international and global history at Columbia University, in New York. PhD in history by Yale University (1997). At Columbia he coordinates the "History Lab", with a mission to use the data science for social research. By collecting fragmented historical collections in a common database, the laboratory uses the natural language processing and machine learning tools to explore them.
