German think tank discusses contribution of Blockchain to environmental governance

Leonardo Paz, a researcher from FGV’s International Intelligence Unit (NPII), participated in the event “Environmental Governance With Blockchain Technology: Perspectives and Challenges”, held in Lima, Peru, on July 24 and 25.
The meeting is part of a series of initiatives on the subject, organized by the Regional Program on Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America (EKLA) of Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung – a think tank based in Germany that holds various relations with the NPII. The event discussed how this new technology can contribute to environmental governance.
During the event, Leonardo Paz presented the project “Blockchain Contributions for Transparency Initiatives Applied to Climate Finance”, in a panel that brought together international experts to discuss and analyze the possibilities of blockchain technology in the field of environmental preservation.
