Conference debates how Latin American companies can help build a more equitable society

FGV’s Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP) and INCAE Business School (Costa Rica) will host the eighth bi-annual conference “Strategic Management in Latin America” (SMLA) on February 19 and 20, starting at 8:30 a.m. This edition will focus on discussing how Latin American companies can help build a more equitable society. The event will be held at EAESP (Rua Itapeva, 432, Bela Vista, Sao Paulo/SP). FGV’s global MBA program, OneMBA, will sponsor the debate panels.
Among the lecturers are Brian Silverman, Toronto University (Canada), former coordinator of the strategy division of the Academy of Management; Jay Anand, Ohio State University (USA), former coordinator of the international management division of the Academy of Management; Esteban Brenes, INCAE Business School (Costa Rica), minister of agriculture and of science and technology (1998-2000) of Costa Rica; Gustavo Junqueira, former president of the SRB (Brazilian Rural Society); Sandro Cabral, Insper; Sergio Lazzarini, Insper; Edgard Barki, FGV; Fernando Assad, founder of Programa Vivenda; Henry Mintzberg, McGill University (Canada); Guilherme Azevedo, Audencia Business School (France); Andrea Alvares, director of marketing, innovation and sustainability at Natura; Ligia Camargo, director of sustainability and communication at Danone; Maria Tereza Fleury, FGV; Jay Anand, Ohio State University (USA); Leandro Bassoi, senior director at Mercado Livre; Luis Bussmann, FGV’s DBA student; Anderson Locatelli, founder and executive director of Troco Simples; and Gabriel Engel, founder of Rocket.Chat.
The guests will debate subjects such as agribusiness, globalization and digital economy, innovation, integration between social and financial performance, Latin America’s contribution towards building a more equitable society, and the contribution of academic research for business.
