FGV welcomes delegations from Latin American universities

FGV welcomed visitors from three Latin American universities between January 14 and 17. Among the visitors were the Colombian dean of Universidad del Valle (UniValle), Edgar Varela Barrios; Colombian government advisor Pedro Medellín; the dean of Instituto de Altos Estudios Nacionales do Equador (IAEN), Fernando Lopez; and the graduate dean of Universidade Nacional de Córdoba (Argentina), Gerardo Heckmann.
The committees were welcomed by FGV’s International Director and President of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), professor Bianor Cavalcanti, and FGV’s International Deputy Director, professor Marlos Lima, who led an extensive meeting agenda between the delegations and FGV’s units.
Throughout the week, visitors met with FGV’s Department of Public Policy Analysis (DAPP) to share experiences on internet data monitoring as part of the plan to establish the Colombian Public Policy Laboratory – an initiative funded by the Colombian government that will be coordinated by Univalle in partnership with the International Affairs Division (DINT) and IASIA. Meetings were also held with FGV Projetos and DINT to discuss joint projects involving executive training, consulting, and mobility of students and professors.
On the 16th, the delegations met with FGV’s President, professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, to discuss strategic topics for the South American region, such as geopolitics, governance, administration and public policies.
