On February 25, FGV and the Brazilian Army Command and General Staff College (ECEME) opened the 21st edition of the Executive MBA in Policy, Strategy and Senior Management of the Brazilian Army (CPEAEx). The ceremony was held at FGV’s main office, at the Engenheiro M. F. Thompson Motta auditorium, attended by the President of FGV, professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, the Commander of ECEME, General Rodrigo Pereira Vergara, and the international director and course coordinator, professor Bianor Cavalcanti.
During the event, the President of FGV led the opening lecture among students, officers of the Armed Forces and professors. The event was also attended by other FGV deans, such as professor Celso Castro, from the School of Social Sciences (CPDOC), and professor Rubens Mario Wachholz, from FGV IDE – Executive Education.
Created from a long-standing partnership between FGV and ECEME since 1999, the Executive MBA in Policy, Strategy and Senior Management of the Brazilian Army is geared towards colonels selected by merit, under the goal of empowering military administrators to take on organizational and administrative challenges inherent to their duties, besides training them to advise the highest echelons of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense and Entities of the Executive Branch.
The program has already trained more than 750 officers and qualified hundreds more to take on positions and duties of generalship, some of which ultimately stood out in strategic areas of the government and helped devise public policies in the country.
