FGV students attend cultural training course in Paris

FGV’s undergraduate students attended the 10th edition of the FGV-Sorbonne Cultural Training Program. Coordinated by professor Marieta de Moraes Ferreira, the program coined “Western European culture: heritage and modernity” lasts for six weeks and is held every year between January and February.

“The students went back with an even greater desire to renew their international experience for a longer period. And they’ve earned it, because it’s not easy to meet all of the requirements imposed by the prep course in Brazil and the demands from both schools”, said professor Charlotte Riom, in charge of the prep course in Brazil.

The goal is to offer a unique six-week cultural experience in Paris, teaching students about the Western legacy in the fields of art, literature and humanities.

“I thought it was great that we got to watch very different and non-mainstream plays, unlike anything we’d ever come into contact with in Brazil. In addition, we also got to see both old and modern theaters, and each play taught us a little bit more about this form of art”, said Isabella Camargo Alves, from FGV’s Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP).

Besides diving deep into a rich and diverse artistic programming, FGV’s students were welcomed by Brazil’s ambassador in Paris, under Sorbonne’s International Relations initiative. For more than two hours, Paulo Cesar de Oliveira Campos answered the students’ questions regarding the relationship between Brazil and France and the role of the Brazilian embassy and its diplomats, besides discussing the diplomatic career in Brazil.
