FGV EBAPE and PMERJ launch new MBA in Public Security course, featuring online classes

On March 30, the FGV´s Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV EBAPE) and Rio de Janeiro State Military Police (PMERJ) launched the third edition of their MBA in Public Security course. This program, aimed at military police officers, will include online classes, in line with the health authorities’ guidance regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

The program, coordinated by Professor Marco Tulio Zanini and Márcio Colmerauer, is an important part of the career training for PMERJ officers between the ranks of captain and major. The decision to create the course was made by PMERJ, which sought out FGV to provide supplementary training for its officers.

“The MBA in Public Security is now on its third edition, this time in online format, following the government’s social distancing recommendations to tackle the coronavirus. The program brings together a team of professors with the proven ability to customize management subjects for the Military Police’s specific organizational environment. Although the course’s meetings will now take place online, we believe that the participants in this third edition will enjoy the same level of experience,” says Professor Marco Tulio Zanini.

He adds that the results of the first two editions support this view. According to him, the participants produced excellent results and final papers, which were incorporated into PMERJ’s management practices to enhance the institution.
