Webinar debates prospects for agribusiness after coronavirus pandemic

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) has launched a series of free webinars to discuss the impacts of the crisis caused by COVID-19 on Brazilian society and possible solutions. The next event in the series will take place on May 4, at 6 pm. It will debate and respond to questions about prospects for agribusiness after the pandemic.

Roberto Rodrigues (the coordinator of FGVAgro), Alexandre Mendonça de Barros (the managing partner of MBAgro) and André Pessoas (the managing partner of Agroconsult) will discuss issues that are affecting agribusiness. Will there be an increase in global protectionism? Will supply chains be reorganized? What strategy will China pursue? Will suppliers become diversified? Will countries try to become self-sufficient? Will public health standards be revised? Will new dietary habits emerge? How will all this affect Brazil?

Given the complex and widespread nature of the present crisis, FGV EESP’s series of events is designed to provide a multidisciplinary space for discussing and analyzing not just economic impacts, but also social, financial and institutional dimensions, as well as public policies to tackle COVID-19.
