Event debates COVID-19’s impact on growing education inequality

On May 11, at 7 pm, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) will hold a webinar to discuss the pandemic’s impacts on basic education in Brazil, focusing on growing education inequality.

The event will present recent data on Brazil’s education systems and guidelines proposed by the National Education Council (CNE) for the continuity of education activities at public and private sector schools.

The event’s participants will be Eduardo Deschamps, of Blumenau Regional University and CNE; Maria Helena Guimarães de Castro, of the Brazilian Association for Education Assessment (ABAVE) and CNE; Patrícia Guedes, of the Itaú Social Foundation; and Priscilla Tavares, of FGV EESP and ABAVE. The guests will also discuss measures taken by different state and municipal governments, including concrete examples.
