New blended MBAs mark start of FGV’s new phase in Belo Horizonte

Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), a national and international leader as a continuing education center, is embarking on a new phase in its history by opening its own center in Belo Horizonte.

“The city is one of Brazil’s main development hubs and it has a demanding public who demand high-quality teaching and executive education of excellence,” says João Luis Barroso, FGV’s director for executive education in Rio de Janeiro, the Federal District and Belo Horizonte.

In April and May, FGV will launch a new kind of blended MBA course in Belo Horizonte, combining in-person classes with live web conference classes and online activities. There will be four MBA programs: Project Management; Business Management; Financial Management: Controllership, Auditing and Compliance; and Strategic People Management: Human Development of Managers. All the courses will be taught by professors with extensive market experience.

These courses have a more dynamic and applied format, with a lot of practical activities. Each subject consists of three weekly sessions, via live web conference, between 7 pm and 10 pm, plus a daytime face-to-face session on Saturdays. In addition, there will be online asynchronous activities and participants will have the convenience of being able to watch the classes again, as they are recorded on a multimedia platform. As long as the pandemic lasts, in-person classes and activities will take place temporarily via web conference.

“The market has changed and we believe that this course model is ideal, as students can experience the best of each modality: in-person activities for networking and live classes via web conference, making intensive use of technology, without the need to travel. They will also benefit from recorded classes and online asynchronous activities, offering great flexibility to those who do not have a lot of free time. Students will always be the protagonists in this process, with the aim of adding value and boosting their professional career,” explains Elaine Sampaio, the executive manager of FGV Executive Education in Belo Horizonte.

The selection processes are composed of three stages: applications, resume analysis and interviews. To find out more, go to, call 31 3500 3703 / 3708 or email
