Sports Ministry recognizes work of FGV professor

The work of the advisor to the President of Fundação Getulio Vargas and professor at the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV/EBAPE), Istvan Karoly Kasznar, as coordinator of the Study Center for Accounts and Sports Management (NECE) was recognized by the president of the Management Committee of Diagnóstico Nacional do Esporte (DIESPORTE) and director of the Department of Strategic Planning and Management of the Ministry of Sports, Cássia Damiani. In the letter, addressed to FGV's president, Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, she stressed the importance of the study developed by the professor through NECE and his contribution to the work carried out at DIESPORTE. His job as advisor to FGV's president and Coordinator of NECE has been essential to the success of this research with such continental magnitude, with impeccable scientific force and sui generis methodology which requires thematic, speed and agility to deliver the products. The results of this study, besides unprecedented in the country, will be used as a modeling reference in the National System of Sports Assessment, Cassia said, referring to the Survey of Sports Financing in Brazil - working in partnership with Fernanda Cruz Perrone Kasznar, Rubens Gomes and Fernando Yoshikai. We've elaborated the first and only model of public and private financing of sports in the country. Thus, we'll know the values, proportions, financial dynamics and implications of the reality of sports funding in our country. This involves the optimization of public policies on sports, said Istvan, who is studying and researching the National Education Financing Model, considering oil royalties. This is a study conducted by the FGV/EBAPE's Syllabus of States and Municipalities (PEEM). NECE - coordinated by Istvan since 1989 - aims to investigate the finances relating to sports in Brazil, and their degree of development. The center also promotes qualification, development and social well-being through investment projects, seminars and conferences, and consulting services to institutions and organizations.
