Inflation retreats in five Brazilian state capitals, according to IBRE

The Consumer Price Index - Weekly (IPC-S), calculated by the Brazilian Institute of Economics (FGV/IBRE), decreased in five of the seven Brazilian state capitals surveyed in the first week of July. The overall result is 0.05% less than the rate of the previous week (from 0.33% to 0.28%).By region, the IPC-S recorded a decrease in the change rate of prices in Salvador (from 0.54% to 0.45%), Belo Horizonte (from 0.17% to 0.13%), Recife (from 0.40% to 0.20%), Porto Alegre (from 0.21% to 0.07%) and São Paulo (from 0.32% to 0.26%). On the other hand, the index recorded an increase in Brasília (from 0.34% to 0.36%) and Rio de Janeiro (from 0.39% to 0.44%).Please click here and read the full analysis (in Portuguese).
