FGV's Law Schools organize simulated jury for students

Undergraduate students of FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School (FGV DIREITO RIO) and São Paulo Law School (DIREITO SP) will be part of a simulated jury on May 27 and 28. The simulated jury's debates will be based on the work ?Caso dos Denunciantes Invejosos? (Jealous Plaintiffs Case), by professor Lon Fuller, full Chair of Philosophy of Law Faculty at Harvard ? translated and magnified to Portuguese by professor Dimoulis. The first day of simulated jury will be open to the entire academic community and is going to take place in the hall on the 8th floor of Rio de Janeiro Law School. Attendants who will be part of the jury, besides students and professors selected at the very moment, include Margarida Camargo (UFRJ), Diogo Justino (UERJ) and Maíra Fernandes (President of the Penitentiary Council). On May 28, the activity will be held in São Paulo. The activity ? jointly organized by professors Thiago Bottino (FGV DIREITO RIO) and Dimitri Dimoulis (DIREITO SP) ? seals the end of the first semester in both schools. The proposal is to put the students in a scenario that resembles a true trial, with one of the groups acting as the defense and the other as the prosecution.Click here and learn more about Caso dos Denunciantes Invejosos (available only in Portuguese).
