The Professional Master's professor of FGV's São Paulo Law School (DIREITO SP), Vanessa Rahal Canado, is a lecturer of the workshop sponsored by the magazine Capital Aberto to discuss the Normative Instruction 627, which brings new rules for the taxation of overseas profits. The purpose of the meeting is to clarify the major changes in the process and identify how companies are reacting to adapt to them.The MP 627 was approved by the Senate on April 15 and is awaiting sanction of President Dilma Rousseff. If approved, the instruction will amend the federal tax legislation relating to the Corporate Income Tax (IRPJ), the Social Contribution on Net Income (CSLL), the Contribution to the PIS/PASEP and the Contribution to Social Financing (COFINS). Moreover, the norm will revoke the Transitional Tax Regime (RTT) and will provide taxation on the profits of residents in Brazil obtained abroad, either through companies or profit sharing.At the event, the professor will discuss the Brazilian model of taxation of profits abroad, the systems adopted historically and the uncertainty generated by the vagueness of the new rules.The event will take place on May 7, from 8 am to 12.30 pm at CEU-IICS Escola de Direito, rua Martiniano de Carvalho, 573, Bela Vista, São Paulo.
