CPDOC welcomes student through cooperation program with South Korea

The School of Social Sciences (FGV/CPDOC) in São Paulo recently welcomed the South Korean student, Minjeong Park, for a six-month exchange program. This is the second time CPDOC welcomed a South Korean student through the cooperation program between FGV and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea, articulated by the International Affairs Division (DINT).The Korean government offers students the opportunity to work in various institutions in Latin America, including the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL), the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (OTCA) and FGV. The goal of the program is to promote cooperation with South America through collaboration with international organizations.Through this internship with FGV I may broaden my view on Brazil's international relations, said the student of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Based on this experience in CPDOC I hope to contribute to the cooperation between Brazil and Korea, added Minjeong. In Oliver Stuenkel's opinion, CPDOC's coordinator in São Paulo, this partnership shows FGV's level of internationalization. This cooperation enables us to strengthen our relations with Asia, a region under increasing importance to the economy and foreign policy, he highlighted.Besides Minjeong Park, other 100 students have already participated in the initiative since 2009.
