The professor and coordinator of the Professional Master's at São Paulo Law School of Fundação Getulio Vargas (DIREITO SP), Mario Engler, participated, on April 2, in the annual conference Bonds, Loans and Derivatives - the biggest event on debt in Latin America, organized by the Global Financial Conferences (GFC). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the evolution of credit and derivatives markets in Brazil.Engler participated in the panel ?Attracting crucial private sector investment into infrastructure projects: Are Brazilian infrastructure investments bankable? which discussed issues related to the regulation of investment in infrastructure in the country. Among the topics covered were the behavior of investors before the uncertainties of a volatile market - especially considering that 2014 is an election year - the best lessons and practices developed in other emerging markets and its applicability in Brazil, besides the development of infrastructure regulation to simplify and give more stability and transparency to the next step of concessions.The table also analyzed determinants of the viability of infrastructure projects in Brazil and perspectives of using other sources of funding, especially with the support of the capital market.
