FGV and Air Force begin fifth year of partnership to train officers in planning and management

On January 9, FGV In Company, in partnership with the Brazilian Air Force, held the inaugural class for seven groups taking the Executive MBA in Strategic Planning and Management. This program, which began in 2019, is now in its fifth year, and 33 groups have so far completed it.
Of the seven groups that will graduate in 2023, five will focus on Strategy and Processes, while two will focus on Health. The program’s academic coordinator is Professor André Meyer Coelho.
“The focus is on providing public and private sector management knowledge to officers who will take on leadership positions in future, adding capabilities such as compliance, marketing, people management and planning to future commanders,” Coelho says.
For 2023, 305 student officers have enrolled in the Major and Lieutenant Colonel categories in areas related to health (doctors, dentists and pharmacists), as well as airmen, quartermasters, infantry, academics, engineers and specialists.
“We are very proud of our partnership with the Air Force Command and General Staff School in this Strategic Planning and Management Program for Brazilian Air Force officers. In the last five years, we have trained 1,078 student officers. Each new group that begins is a fresh challenge for us,” says João Lins, the executive director of FGV In Company.
