2nd Talent Selection Meeting encourages study of math among high school students

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Center for the Development of Mathematics and Science (FGV CDMC), in partnership with the Espírito Santo State Education Secretariat, through its Mathematics Network Program, is holding the 2nd FGV CDMC Talent Selection Meeting.
Scheduled for March 30 to April 1 in Guarapari, Espírito Santo, the meeting is designed for outstanding second and third grade students at federal and state government high schools, who have excelled in the latest editions of the Brazilian Public School Mathematics Olympiad.
The 2nd FGV CDMC Talent Selection Meeting aims to stimulate and promote the study of mathematics and increase FGV’s integration with high-performing students in mathematics and related areas.
During the event, there will be interactive mathematics experimentation workshops, minicourses, competitions involving oral and practical presentations, talks and thematic discussions.
In all, 50 students and 10 teachers from Espírito Santo, selected by the Mathematics Network Program, will participate in the meeting.
The event will be taught by professors from Fundação Getulio Vargas, Espírito Santo Federal University’s Mathematics Department and the Espírito Santo Federal Education Institute.
The meeting will take place in the Flamboyant Hotel & Convention Center in Guarapari, Espírito Santo.
