FGV/CPDOC welcomes the president of the Rio de Janeiro Truth Commission

On February 27, the Laboratory for the Study of Institutions (LEI) of the School of Social Sciences (FGV/CPDOC), coordinated by Professors Angela Moreira, Letícia Ferreira and Marco Aurélio Vannucchi, will welcome the President of the Rio de Janeiro Truth Commission (CEV - RJ), Wadih Damous.The guest will speak about the institutional structure and the operations of the Commission. The event will also feature the presence of counsels Ana Carolina Grangeia Cardoso and Vitor Guimarães, who will comment on the process of search in files that subsidize the work of CEV.The event is the result of a partnership between CPDOC and CEV-RJ, due to the development of the project Arqueologia da reconciliação: formulação, aplicação e recepção de políticas públicas relativas à violação de direitos humanos durante a ditadura military? (Archaeology of reconciliation: formulation, implementation and reception of public policies related to human rights violations during the military dictatorship), funded by Faperj. Besides Angela Moreira, who is coordinating the project, and Marco Aurélio Vannucchi and Letícia Ferreira, the initiative also includes the participation of Professors Luciana Heymann, Dulce Pandolfi, Verena Alberti, Paulo Fontes and Américo Freire.CPDOC's Laboratory for the Study of Institutions is a multidisciplinary forum of debate and knowledge production about institutions of various kinds: state agencies, civil society organizations, associations and professional bodies, among others. Its primary objective is the production and dissemination of knowledge about theoretical and methodological issues related to the historical, anthropological and sociological study of institutions.The meeting with Wadih Damous will take place at 2 pm at FGV's main office, in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro.
