Fundação Getulio Vargas’ International Intelligence Unit (FGV NPII) is holding an event called “The Jean Monnet Atlantic Network: A Debate About the Atlantic.” This public event will take place on June 15, at 1:30 pm, in FGV’s main building.

The event will cap off the Jean Monnet Atlantic Network 2.0 Project, a series of international political analyses and partnerships carried out by FGV NPII in the last few years. The meeting will consist of three panel discussions:

• Panel Discussion 1: Project’s Overview and Conclusion;
• Panel Discussion 2: Overview of Atlantic Policy;
• Panel Discussion 3: Atlantic Approaches for New Global Challenges, Looking to the Future.

The guest speakers will be Carolina Boniatti Pavese (professor of international relations at ESPM and coordinator of EU Green), Jamile Bergamaschine (professor of law at Minas Gerais Federal University), Marcelo Valença (professor of international security at the Brazilian Naval War College), Paula W. Almeida (professor of international law at the FGV Rio de Janeiro Law School and coordinator of EU – South America Global Governance), and Tanguy Baghdadi (professor of international relations at Veiga de Almeida University and founder of Petit Journal). The moderator will be FGV NPII researcher Leonardo Paz Neves.

About the Jean Monnet Atlantic Network

Since 2016, as part of the European Union’s Erasmus+ Program, the Jean Monnet Atlantic Network has been promoting debate and cooperation among the following research institutes: IPRI-UNL in Portugal, CIDOB in Spain, CIDE in Mexico, PCNS in Morocco and IEE-ULB in Belgium. 

The network is focused on topics of fundamental importance to stakeholders in the Atlantic Basin region (trade, the economy, energy, sustainability, security and inequality), and it is a central forum for discussions of globalization and global trends.
