Racial equality minister participates in webinar on topic
The Professional Master’s in Public Management and Policy at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) is holding a free webinar on public policies regarding racial equality in Brazil. This public event will be livestreamed on FGV’s YouTube channel on June 13, starting at 2 pm.
The idea is to hold a debate with Brazil’s minister for racial equality, Anielle Franco, concerning strategies to take governmental measures to combat racial discrimination and promote equal opportunities for all Brazilian citizens, regardless of their ethnic origin.
The main goal of public policies for racial equality in Brazil is to promote social inclusion and guarantee fundamental rights for all citizens, regardless of their race or skin color. These policies encompass many areas, such as education, health, security, culture, work and employment.
The event will also address the importance of the participation and political representation of minority ethnic groups, seeking to encourage the presence of black people in positions of power and decision making in both government and civil society.
The meeting will also feature Cibele Franzese, a professor of public administration and the coordinator of FGV EAESP's undergraduate public administration course; and Fernando Burgos, a professor at FGV EAESP and a resercher at its Center for Public Administration and Government Studies (CEAPG). The moderator will be Marco Antonio Teixeira, the coordinator of FGV EAESP’s Professional Master’s in Public Management and Policy (MPGPP).
