The researcher from the Center for Technology and Society (CTS) at Rio de Janeiro Law School (FGV DIREITO RIO), Joana Varon, will attend RightsCon - the biggest event on technology and human rights in the world.The conference will take place in March 2014, in Silicon Valley, California, and it will discuss topics such as human rights challenges and new technologies, risk measurement and prevention in Information Technology (IT) departments of large companies, innovation in digital rights, Internet governance reform and restoration of individual rights in the age of surveillance.The event will be attended by Andrew Cohen, from Amazon; Chris Riley, from Mozilla; Del Harvey, from Twitter; Derek Slater and Morgan Marquis Boire, from Google, and Jean-Jacques Sahel, from Microsoft; and human rights experts, investors, entrepreneurs, business leaders, engineers, activists, and representatives from government agencies in various countries.This is the fourth edition of Rightscon, which is still open for the registration of new works until December 20th.Please click here to learn more about the event.
