Continuing the volume Móvel Brasileiro Moderno (Modern Brazilian Furniture), FGV Projetos and Aeroplano Editora launched the book Móvel Brasileiro Contemporâneo (Contemporary Brazilian Furniture) - with major Brazilian works that influence designers from all over the world since the 1970s to the present day.The publication is an overview of the resurgence of the interest in furniture made of wood and straw and the rupture with tradition through less noble materials (rubber, canvas and cement fiber, for example) of the 80s to the diversity of language, concept, modes of production and affected markets in the 2000s. And for that, it presents 437 illustrations of pieces designed by 63 artists, including Fernando Jaeger, Ovo, Ruy Ohtake, Irmãos Campana, Lattoog e Zanini de Zanine, Índio da Costa, Claudia Moreira Salles, Isabela Vecci and Hugo França.The book Móvel Brasileiro Contemporâneo premiered at Rio Design Week this year and is organized by the director of FGV Projetos, Cesar Cunha Campos, and coordinated by Silvia Finguerut. Paulo Herkenhoff is the editor of the publication. The book is also available online, in English.Click here to download the book.
