BM&FBOVESPA and GVces launch 9th sustainability portfolio

BM&FBOVESPA announced on Thursday, November 28th, the ninth Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) portfolio, which will run from January 6th, 2014 to January 2nd, 2015. The new portfolio comprises 51 new shares of 40 companies, representing 18 industries and totaling BRL 1.14 trillion in market value - equivalent to 47.16% of the total value of companies traded on BM&FBOVESPA.Created in 2005, the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) adopts the methodology of the Center for Sustainability Studies (GVces) of FGV?s São Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP) and reflects the return of a portfolio composed of stocks of companies which presented the best performances in all dimensions that measure corporate sustainability. The purpose of the index is to act as a reactor of good practices in Brazilian business and be a reference for socially responsible investment.183 companies that held the 200 most liquid shares on the Stock Exchange in December 2012 were invited to participate in the new portfolio. Of the 37 companies present in the current portfolio, 36 are still in the 2014 portfolio, besides four new companies: Cielo, Embraer, Fleury and Klabin - bringing to the ISE three new sectors: Varied Financial Services, Transport Material, and Medical Hospital, Analysis and Diagnostic Services.To learn more about FGV?s Center for Sustainability Studies (GVces), please click here.
