Startup that reduces animal testing wins EAESP's Challenge Brazil

The company works on technology to generate multiple human cell types from stem cells, enabling the reduction of animal testing. It will receive legal and accounting advice and six months of coaching offered by SPVentures as a prize.

The 8th edition of the Desafio Brasil (Challenge Brazil) - competition organized by FGV?s Center of Studies on Private Equity and Venture Capital (GVcepe) of São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV/EAESP) that rewards the best national startups - has already picked its winners. This year, more than 1,800 proposals were received, evaluated and advised by 611 expert volunteers.The first place went to PluriCell Biotechnologies, which in October had already won the 1st Startup Campinas Prize. The company works on technology to generate multiple human cell types from stem cells, enabling the reduction of animal testing. It will receive legal and accounting advice and six months of coaching offered by SPVentures as a prize.The awards took place on November 26th, during the international event Open Innovation Week, held in São Paulo. The RFIdeas startups, specialized in developing real-time tracking and IT assets management systems, and STA, which develops technologies and solutions for the charcoal production, were ranked second and third, respectively.
