In November, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Rio de Janeiro Law School renewed its ISO 9001 certification, an internationally recognized quality management system accreditation awarded by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Not very common in the legal education market, ISO 9001 certification makes the school stand out and attests to its pioneering spirit and its commitment to quality, continuous improvement and the satisfaction of its students.

The audits were carried out on November 13 and 14, involving teams responsible for the school’s undergraduate, master’s, doctoral and non-degree programs, assessing the teams’ knowledge of their activities and the general context of what each person does, contributing to the overall quality of the institution. The aim of the certification is to ensure that what has been agreed with clients is carried out with as little effort and internal cost as possible.

This commitment is also reflected in the academic quality of our courses, the research that contributes to Brazil’s development, the distinctive services provided to students and our procedures, which ensure top-rate services and activities involving our entire academic community,” said Professor Sérgio Guerra, the dean of the FGV Rio de Janeiro Law School. 

The school’s certification is provided by BSI, which is accredited by national and international accreditation bodies to carry out certification services. Accordingly, the school’s quality has global recognition, as it is validated in Brazil by INMETRO, in North America by ANAB and in the United Kingdom by UKAS.

ISO 9001 is not only internationally recognized as the most widely adopted quality management system in the world but is also a powerful business improvement tool.
