To discuss the new challenges of the collection, management and analysis of health data. This is the goal of the 1st Symposium on Big Data and Public Health - a production of the School of Applied Mathematics of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV/EMAp) in partnership with Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz) and the National Institute for Space Research (INPE).The event - which shows the complexity of the collection, management and analysis of data related to public health problems - will include the participation of specialists from various academic subjects, besides leaders of government sectors, to discuss the challenges between Big Data and Public Health in the 21st century.According to EMAp's professor and the organizer of the event, Flávio Codeço Coelho, there is a field still little explored - which is the development of computational, mathematics and statistics tools, necessary for an effective analysis of Public Health issues, explains the professor.
