Fundação Getulio Vargas represents Brazil at international conference on cyberspace

The researcher at the Center for Technology and Society (CTS) of Fundação Getulio Vargas' Rio de Janeiro Law School (FGV/DIREITO RIO), Joana Varon, will be one of the representatives of Brazil at the Seoul Conference on Cyberspace 2013 - which will bring together governments, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations and experts to discuss from crimes in cyberspace to the economic and social benefits of the internet.In its edition in the capital of South Korea, the conference's theme will be Global Prosperity through an Open and Secure Cyberspace - Opportunities, Threats and Cooperation and it will be divided into six major areas for discussion: Economic Growth and Development, Social and Cultural Advantages, Cyber Security, International Security, Cybercrime and Training.Besides Joana Varon, Brazil will be represented by the Embassy in Seoul, by the Director of the Army's Cybernetic Defense Center, General José Carlos dos Santos, and the Secretary of Computer Processing of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MTI), Virgílio Almeida.The other conferences were held in London (2011) and Budapest (2012).The SeoulCyber2013 takes place on October 17-18 and it will be broadcasted by live streaming.Please click below and learn more.http://www.seoulcyber2013.kr/en/main/main.do
