The launch of the book Urban History: memory, culture and society organized by the historians Gisele Sanglard, from the Department of Historical Heritage of Casa de Oswaldo Cruz (COC)/Fiocruz, Carlos Eduardo Moreira de Araújo and José Jorge Siqueira takes place today, October 2, at FGV Bookstore.Published by FGV Press, the work is the result of a collective structure of researchers from various institutions and analyzes the city as a historical structure, in contrast to the conception of the city as a static natural fact, prioritizing the study of social processes that redefine, along the time, what urban exactly is.The analysis mainly includes the cities of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and the capital of Pernambuco, Recife.The launch is open to the public and will begin at 6:30 pm.FGV Bookstore is located at Rua Jornalista Orlando Dantas, 44, in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro.
