Last Wednesday, August 7^th, FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School (DIREITO RIO) held a lecture with the current Secretary of Legal Affairs of the Organization of American States (OAS), Jean-Michel Arrighi. The speaker spoke about the current challenges facing the Organization, with emphasis on topics such as Democracy and Human Rights, in addition to explaining the operation of the legal and political system of the entity. According to the professor Paula Almeida, coordinator of the program, the lecture is a unique opportunity to learn about the operation and the current difficulties of the OAS more in depth through one of the greatest specialists in this area, she believes. The event was part of the opening series of the European Module of the Jean Monnet Program.
