The article The Impact of the Sense of Security from Crime on Residential Property Values in Brazilian Metropolitan Areas by a professor at FGV's Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE), Kaizô Beltrão, was published by the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) - the largest source of financing for development in Latin America and the Caribbean.  Written in partnership with David M. Vetter and Rosa M. R. Massena, the study assessed, through IBGE's National Household Sample Survey (PNAD), the influence of the security issue in real estate prices in metropolitan regions. It is estimated, for example, that the increasing feeling of safety would increase on average BRL 1,513.00 the value of a property.  Kaizô Beltrão has experience in the field of Population and Public Policies, with an emphasis on Social Welfare and Education, and works with studies and demographic modeling, differences by sex/race, health conditions, demographics and mortality.  Please click here to read the article.
