On June 26, Professor at FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School, Carlos Affonso Pereira de Souza, participated in the Regional Conference of Open Data for Latin America and the Caribbean, in Montevideo, Uruguay. He talked about the Internet Civil Landmark - a project that provides principles, guarantees, rights and duties for Brazilian Internet users.  Within the panel Legal and Regulatory Matters: principles and institutions, Carlos Affonso addressed the Civil Landmark chapter related to State performance, highlighting the devices that control the establishment of transparent, collaborative and democratic governance mechanisms, with the participation of various sectors of society.  The event also included Fabrizio Scrollini, of DATA Uruguay; Javier Ruiz, of Open Rights; Franz Ruz, of Rooter.es; Gabriel Segovia, of the Federal Institute for Access to Information and Data Protection, from Mexico; and Laura Nahabetian, of Agencia para el Desarrollo del Gobierno de Gestión Electrónica y la Sociedad de la Información y del Conocimiento (AGESIC) from Uruguay.
