DIREITO RIO's course addresses development theories
What is the difference between rich and poor countries? What are the concepts and theories about development? What is the influence of public administration and corruption on poverty? Those are some of the matters addressed in the course What Makes Poor Countries Poor? to be given by professor Mariana Prado, from the University of Toronto, at Rio de Janeiro School of Law, DIREITO RIO.
The course will last one week and will address the role of Law and the institutions in promoting development. Among the topics to be approached are the current conceptions of development, economic growth theories, the new institutional economics, democracy, development, public administration and development, among others.
The course will take place on August 20 to 24, from 4pm to 6pm, at FGV headquarters.
