2023 FGV university entrance exam: learn about our economics courses

Economics is the area of knowledge dedicated to studying the allocation of scarce resources for the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services, in an efficient, free, fair and sustainable way, aimed at social well-being.

FGV has a long tradition in the area and it runs undergraduate courses in Rio de Janeiro, at the Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE), and in Sao Paulo, at the Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP).

Both schools are recognized for their academic excellence and they are committed to contributing to Brazil’s development through the production and sharing of economic knowledge. Their up-to-date curricula reflect the latest debates and topics on the economic agenda. 

Rio de Janeiro
 

Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE) 
 

FGV EPGE’s undergraduate economics course has been rated top nationwide in nine out of the 13 “General Course Index” assessments that the Brazilian Education Ministry has carried out to date, competing against more than 2,000 other higher education institutions. 

The school offers 100 places in this selection process, broken down as follows: 85 via FGV’s university entrance exam, eight via the National High School Exam (ENEM) and seven via international selection processes.

Sao Paulo
 

Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) 
 

FGV EESP’s undergraduate economics course is considered world class and it is ranked among the three best in Brazil in the Education Ministry’s General Course Index. Its professors studied at some of the foremost universities in Brazil and abroad and they have extensive teaching, research and professional experience.

The school uses a problem-based learning methodology in which students explore real problems and case studies to apply economic theory and models in practice. Each class has no more than 15 students, overseen by a professor.

There are 150 places available in 2023, broken down as follows: 125 via FGV’s university entrance exam, five via Knowledge Olympiads, five via ENEM and 15 via international selection processes.

Application fee and deadlines
 

Until 6 pm on October 21, the fee for applications based on the university entrance exam is R$150. The same deadline and fee also apply to international selection processes.

If you wish to apply to EPGE based on your ENEM results, the application fee will be R$50 until 6 pm on January 6, 2023. If you wish to apply to EESP based on your results in ENEM or Knowledge Olympiads, the fee is R$150.
