Brazil Risk Reassessment Seminar to discuss the Brazilian post-election scenario
The “Brazil Risk Reassessment” seminar, put together by FGV’s Business Cooperation Committee (CCE), FGV’s World Economic Center (CEM) and FGV Projetos, in partnership with the Industry Federation of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Firjan) and the newspaper Valor Econômico, will take place on December 3, starting at 9:00 a.m. The event will be held at FGV’s Cultural Center (Praia de Botafogo, 186, Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro/RJ) and aims to discuss the post-election evolution of the Brazil risk. The focus will be on fiscal adjustments as a precondition for a new growth stage.
The event’s opening session will be attended by Sergio Franklin Quintella, FGV’s Vice President; Cesar Cunha Campos, director of FGV Projetos; Carlos Geraldo Langoni, director of CEM; Eduardo Eugênio Gouvêa Vieira, president of Firjan; Heloisa Magalhães, editor-in-chief of the Rio de Janeiro branch of the newspaper Valor Econômico; and João Carlos de Luca, president of CCE.
The secretary of the National Treasury, Mansueto de Almeida Junior, will speak about fiscal risk. Luiz Ildefonso Simões Lopes, executive chairman of Brookfield, and Andre Araújo, president of Shell, will discuss private investment projects. The prospect of a possible upgrade in the Brazilian rating will be discussed by Fitch Ratings CEO, Rafael Guedes. Finally, the President of the Central Bank of Brazil, Ilan Goldfajn, will present his views on interest and inflation, in addition to talking about the institution’s self-administration. This very timely event is coordinated by the director of CEM, professor Carlos Geraldo Langoni.
