Conference Board adopts FGV IBRE productivity indicators as reference

This week, The Conference Board, an international benchmark for productivity analysis, released the latest version of its Total Economy Database, an annual database featuring information about GDP, population, employment, hours worked and productivity across a large sample of countries.

Starting with this edition, the labor factor information (employment and hours worked) used to calculate Brazil’s productivity will be supplied by FGV IBRE’s Regis Bonelli Productivity Observatory.

Productivity is one of the core concerns of FGV IBRE’s institutional mission to contribute to debate on Brazil’s development. Created in 2019, the Regis Bonelli Productivity Observatory publishes indicators of labor productivity (aggregate and broken down by sector) and total factor productivity for the Brazilian economy, quarterly and annually.

The productivity indicators constructed by FGV IBRE, as well as the methodology it has developed to calculate them, can be seen on the Regis Bonelli Productivity Observatory’s website.
