Digital Democracy Room has new Latin American partners

The Digital Democracy Room, a project led by Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Department of Public Policy Analysis (FGV DAPP), is going through a new expansion phase. The project is aimed at monitoring and analyzing public debate on the internet and combating disinformation strategies that threaten the fairness of political elections. Partnerships are an important part of it as they strengthen the formation of a continental network in pursuit of common goals.

The Digital Democracy Room’s new partners are think tank Espacio Público (Chile), websites Animal Político (Mexico) and Bolivia Verifica (Bolivia), and independent journalism and data analysis vehicle Confidencial (Nicaragua). The project was already working with fact-checking agency Chequeado (Argentina), website Linterna Verde (Colombia) and investigative journalism vehicle Ojo Público (Peru).

Chilean partner Espacio Público has already gone through the training stage with FGV DAPP’s team and the Digital Democracy Room has already posted some of its articles since then, most of which analyze the process of drafting and voting on a new constitution in Chile.

Animal Político, Bolivia Verifica and Confidencial are in the training phase and they will soon be contributing new content to the project’s website.
