Event discusses impact of tax distortions on business competitiveness
On December 6, Professor Carlos Ragazzo of the FGV´s Rio de Janeiro Law School took part in the Annual Seminar of the Competition and Regulation Studies Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association’s Sao Paulo branch, which discussed antitrust issues that are currently affecting the country. The event was held at the association’s main office in Sao Paulo.
At the seminar, Ragazzo gave a talk called “Tax and Competition: Habitual Debtors and Free Enterprise.” He discussed the competitive impact of tax distortions on various sectors, especially those that have high tax burdens and low profit margins.
In particular, the professor discussed possible regulatory and antitrust solutions to address this problem and build a healthier competitive landscape for the country.
