Executive Education Forum: finance and change management are among topics explored in Brasilia

FGV Executive Education is holding the Executive Education Forum between March 15 and 31, at its Brasilia site. This in-person event will feature debates and talks about the following areas of knowledge: financial education, change management, Brazilian agribusiness, digital transformation, clinical leadership, government relations, innovations in the public sector, and the work of data protection officers.

March 15 – Corporate financial well-being: in-company financial education programs

Personal finance has a massive impact on people’s lives. When it is out of balance, it can harm many other areas, including our career. March 16 – Change management – dealing with people

Change is now inevitable, frequent, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. It may stem from new technologies, new applications, social, cultural, demographic, political and environmental demands, and many other reasons. Understanding the nature of change and how we behave in response to it, as well as acting proactively and resiliently, using effective strategies, projects and processes focused on human aspects, are challenges for all of us, and especially leaders.

March 20 – Competitiveness of Brazilian agribusiness

March 24 – Clinical leadership

  • Fernando Arruda, professor at FGV, with MBA focusing on finance and tax from the Álvares Penteado Trade School Foundation (FECAP) and an MBA in health management from Insper, a higher education institute in Sao Paulo
  • Daniel Luiz Novaes Machado, professor at FGV, with MBA from FGV EAESP
  • Fábio Ferreira de Carvalho Junior, pediatrician and immunologist, with MBA and master’s in medicine from Sao Paulo Santa Casa Medical School

Clinical leadership has evolved a lot in the last decade. Some well-known subjects, such as the quality and safety of care, have gained protocols based on scientific evidence and analysis of the patient’s journey and clinical outcomes. To meet the demands of hospitals, health insurers and patients, it is no longer enough to merely have meetings with clinical staff to discuss medical record audits, claim edits and shift schedules.

March 27 – Government relations professionals’ activities and regulation

  • Carolina Venuto, president of Brazilian Institutional and Government Relations Association (ABRIG)

Institutional and government relations has been recognized by the Brazilian Employment Classification as a profession and Congress is currently working on regulations to govern it. The House recently approved a proposed set of regulations and submitted it to the Senate on December 2, 2022. This profession involves providing intelligence, organization and advice on strategic actions to achieve objectives, and it also includes monitoring and interaction with public and private sector agents. From this perspective, institutional and government relations professionals are above all interpreters of information.

March 29 – State capacities to innovate in the public sector

March 31 – The role of data protection officers in companies’ everyday routines

  • Rafael Alves de Almeida, non-degree graduate course coordinator, FGV Rio de Janeiro Law School
  • Allan Nascimento Turano, professor, FGV Rio de Janeiro Law School

This meeting will discuss the functions of data protection officers in companies’ routines and their advisory role regarding the creation of new products or services, entering into contracts with commercial partners, communicating with customers, and management and remediation of security incidents.
