Executives from three leading record labels debate future of entertainment industry

The popularization of livestreaming during the pandemic and the leading role of streaming services in this time of social distancing – these are some of the subjects to be debated at a webinar called “The Entertainment Industry After the Pandemic,” to be held by FGV Executive Education on Tuesday, June 9, at 2 pm, via Zoom, YouTube and LinkedIn.

The speakers will be the CEO of Sony Music BrasilPaulo Junqueiro; the CEO of Universal Music BrasilPaulo Lima; and the CEO of Warner Music Brasil, Sergio Affonso. Moderated by the coordinator of FGV’s new Music Business Executive Education Course, Kiko Fernandes, these three music industry executives will discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the entertainment industry, one of the most affected by social isolation measures across the world.

According to Kiko Fernandes, of the 10 largest music livestreams since April, seven have been in Brazil, demonstrating the strength of this market in Brazil.

“Social distancing is affecting many parts of the entertainment industry. What will music shows be like after this period of livestreams? What will the new routines of the visual arts be like at fairs and large events?” says Fernandes.

FGV’s Music Business Executive Education Course – This is the first course of its kind in Brazil. It offers a specialized education to people interested in working in the record industry and wider music market. Between June 22 and August 11, eight modules will be delivered via Zoom, covering the “Music Industry,” “Technology in the Music Business,” “Music as a Business” and “Sound Branding – Music for Brands.” These modules may be taken separately or at the same time.
