FGV CPDOC launches Guide to Electoral Data at Superior Electoral Court
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ School of Social Sciences (FGV CPDOC) recently attended an event hosted by the Superior Electoral Court, presided over by Justice Edilene Lôbo, which featured the launch of the “Guide to Electoral Data: First Republic (1889-1930),” written by Professor Jaqueline Zulini of FGV CPDOC together with Paolo Ricci of the University of Sao Paulo. This book was the result of a technical cooperation agreement between the court, the University of Sao Paulo and Fundação Getulio Vargas.
The director general of the Superior Electoral Court, Rogério Galloro, spoke about the book’s importance for the electoral justice system. “Today we are launching this book, which is the result of a cooperation agreement between these three important institutions: the Superior Electoral Court, University of Sao Paulo and FGV. It is a milestone for the electoral justice system, as it compiles data on elections during the First Republic in an unprecedented way. It took 10 years of research. This book makes a significant contribution to the history of our elections and reinforces the court’s commitment to electoral justice records in Brazil,” said Galloro.
The book can now be downloaded free of charge on the Superior Electoral Court’s website, in its Publications Catalog.
