FGV EBAPE expands relations with market and forms Alumni Council
On September 23, the FGV´s Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV EBAPE) and the coordinators of its Alumni Network held the first meeting of the Alumni Council. The meeting, held in the school’s main building, was aimed at kicking off the activities planned for the council – composed of former students who are now executives at important organizations – besides presenting and debating FGV EBAPE’s present challenges.
FGV EBAPE’s dean, Professor Flavio Vasconcelos, offered participants an overview of the school’s strategy and its portfolio of programs, as well as its goals and future challenges. Following this presentation, the council members had the opportunity to contribute their market perspectives and experiences inside and outside FGV EBAPE. This initiative is designed to expand connections between academia, organizations’ circumstances, their needs in terms of staff development and training, and contemporary social challenges.
The EBAPE Alumni Council is made up of the head of the Central Bank University, Elvira Cruvinel; the head of the Environment and Management Department at the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) Amazon Fund, Nabil Moura; the president of the World Federation of People Management and ex-president of the Brazilian Human Resources Association (ABRH), Leyla Nascimento; the director of Ecuador’s National Institute of Advanced Studies (IAEN), Marcelo Fernando Parra; and L’Oréal do Brasil’s financial director for Latin America, Rosmari Capra Sales. In addition to the council members and FGV EBAPE’s dean, the meeting was also attended by the head of the school’s Center for Academic Education and Research, Roberto Pimenta; its international accreditation coordinator, Yuna Fontoura; the head of its Undergraduate Study Center, Henrique Heidtman; and its alumni coordinator, who was responsible for establishing the council, Darliny Amorim.
The council will have an advisory role and it will meet every six months to continuously support and evaluate the school, its alumni and the organizations where they work.
