FGV forms partnership with municipal government of Suzano to train education professionals
At the end of September, Fundação Getulio Vargas entered into a partnership with the municipal government of Suzano in the state of Sao Paulo. The purpose is to offer 750 scholarships to Municipal Education Secretariat employees, providing 100 places on FGV Executive Education’s School Management MBA Program and 650 places on its Learning Path for School Managers Program.
The initiative will offer education professionals training that encompasses theoretical knowledge, management tools and everyday practices. The School Management MBA Program is designed for technical education assistants, teaching supervisors, school principals, school department heads and education coordinators.
The Learning Path for School Managers Program is a continuing education course for basic education managers, presenting a broad vision of the main challenges faced by school managers.
The initiative, which is part of the Municipal Education Secretariat’s Continuing Education Program, was presented during a ceremony held on September 27, featuring the director of Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Center for the Development of Public Management and Educational Policy (FGV DGPE), José Henrique Paim, together with Municipal Education Secretary Leandro Bassini and employees who will take the course.
Paim said that these courses are important, as FGV has now been training teachers in Suzano for four years, but until now school principals and supervisors did not have access to any specialized courses. He also stressed the importance of teacher training, especially during the pandemic, and said he is aware of the challenges involved in public sector education. He said he was delighted by FGV’s new partnership with the municipal government of Suzano, as it will provide content that will make a difference to the local education network.
