FGV launches series of meetings to discuss relations between China and Latin American countries

The Brazil-China Study Center at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Rio de Janeiro Law School is holding a series of webinars with researchers from Latin American countries to discuss relations between China and Latin America. The series of events, called BR&Br + Americas, will feature speakers from Argentina, Chile and Mexico.

The first webinar will take place on April 13, with a talk called “China and Its New Long March Toward Independence” by Gustavo Alejandro Girado, professor of graduate studies in contemporary China at the National University of Lanús, Argentina. He is also the joint coordinator of the Managing Business with China course at the National University of Córdoba. In 2020, he received the Special Book Award of China from the Chinese National Press and Publication Administration.

The meeting will be moderated by Evandro Menezes de Carvalho, the coordinator of the Brazil-China Study Center and a professor at FGV’s Rio de Janeiro Law School; and Daniel Veras, a researcher at the Brazil-China Study Center.

There will be more webinars on April 20, May 4 and May 18 as part of the BR&Br + Americas series of debates. The meetings will take place in Spanish, without simultaneous interpretation.
