FGV launches social responsibility awards
Fundação Getulio Vargas is launching the FGV Social Responsibility Awards, with the aim of selecting best practices designed to improve the quality of life of urban groups, especially vulnerable ones.
Initiatives in four broad thematic areas may be submitted:
- Projects related to education and culture;
- Health and sanitation;
- Sustainability;
- Applied academic research related to public security.
The entries will be evaluated in terms of their impact on employment and income generation, replicability, innovation, and equity. The winners will be selected and ranked according to these criteria.
The awards scheme was created by the FGV Permanent Forum on Social Responsibility. The goal is to help overcome social and environmental vulnerabilities and provide an opportunity to shed light on successful experiences to boost sustainable and social development. Another aim is to encourage these exemplary initiatives to be replicated by other public and private sector entities, and in particular by third sector organizations.
The target audience is made up of nonprofit civil society organizations, social managers and researchers, who are invited to present projects in four broad categories. Three winning projects will be selected and ranked first, second and third. The prizes will be R$50,000, R$30,000 and R$20,000, respectively. There will also be a prize of R$15,000 in the applied research category.
To submit an initiative, please fill out the applicable online form (for “Projects” or “Applied Research”), at the website. After you apply, you will receive an application confirmation email. You may submit as many different projects as you like, but a maximum of one initiative will be selected per person/institution.
The FGV Social Responsibility Awards are supported by Aegea and Globo.
