FGV Rio de Janeiro Law School accepting entries for Regulatory Best Practice Awards

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Rio de Janeiro Law School is now accepting entries for its “Regulatory Best Practice Awards.” This awards scheme, linked to the Regulation in Numbers research project, aims to recognize and highlight regulatory best practices adopted by regulatory agencies in Brazil, celebrating innovative initiatives in areas such as transparency, governance, participation, management and protection of the rights of consumers or users. Those interested in participating should submit their proposals no later than August 31.
The contest is open to public agents working at regulatory agencies, employees or otherwise, on their own or in partnership with other public administration entities, the legislature, judiciary, public prosecutors’ offices, audit courts, public defender’s offices, education institutions, business support agencies or third sector organizations.
The fundamental significance of this initiative lies in ensuring contributions that can drive advancements in regulatory law in Brazil. The goals are to highlight successful regulatory practices that have been carried out in Brazil’s context, to encourage these initiatives to be replicated and adapted in future at other regulatory institutions, and to learn how to overcome challenges commonly faced by regulators. The awards also stimulate the pursuit of innovative and efficient paths forward in the field of regulation.
Entries for the awards should be submitted on the school’s website.
