FGV signs cooperation agreement with Colombian university
Fundação Getulio Vargas and the University of Valle (Univalle) in Cali, Colombia, have renewed an academic and educational cooperation agreement for the next five years. The agreement was signed during a meeting held on January 21 in FGV’s Noble Room in Rio de Janeiro, at which the two organizations also discussed holding joint activities.
The meeting was attended by FGV’s president, Professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal; its provost for education, research and graduate studies, Professor Antonio Freitas; Professor Bianor Cavalcanti; and FGV’s international affairs manager, Professor Klaus Stier, representing the international director, Professor Marlos Lima. The Colombian delegation was made up of Univalle’s president, Edgar Varela Barrios; the director of Univalle’s Buga campus and president of the Latin American Group for Public Administration (LAGPA), which is the regional representative of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), Professor Rubén Dario Echeverri; the director of Colombia’s Higher School of Public Administration (ESAP), Pedro Medellín; and the executive secretary of LAGPA/IIAS, César Alfonzo.
The visit was aimed at discussing subjects such as the creation of the Colombian Public Policy Laboratory and preparations for the 2020 LAGPA/IIAS Conference, to be held in Bogotá, Colombia on September 28 and 29, which will be supported by ESAP, Univalle and FGV.
