FGV submits papers to 21st Outstanding Introductory Scientific Research Awards
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ schools have selected four papers by introductory scientific research students to compete in the 21st Outstanding Introductory Scientific and Technological Research Awards, which are held annually by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
According to Antonio Freitas FGV’s Provost for Education, Research and Graduate Studies, researchers at FGV’s different schools work on an Introductory Scientific Research Program, which contributes to students’ academic and professional development, involving scientific research as a source of theoretical and methodological support. CNPq and FGV invest scarce resources in this program.
The Provost’s Office set up a committee to select the best paper in each field of knowledge. (Only one candidate can be nominated to CNPq per area of knowledge in the same category.)
The following papers were nominated by FGV’s schools:
- Intergenerational Mobility in Education: Evidence from the National High School Exam, 2019-2021
Alan Gustavo Weiler Gayger, Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE)
- Transnational Networks in the History of Sociology – The Case of Irving L. Horowitz’s Circulation in Latin American Sociology
Diana Rebelo Rodriguez, School of Social Sciences (FGV CPDOC)
- Changes to the Procedural Rules and the Functioning of the House of Representatives
Luiz Eduardo Bittencourt Teles Amorim, School of Public Policy and Government (FGV EPPG)
- Variation in State COVID-19 Vaccination Plans: A Perspective on Vaccination in the State of Amapá
Vitoria Mariana Delgado, Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP)
From the nominated papers, the committee selected the one by Alan Gustavo Weiler Gayger, Intergenerational Mobility in Education: Evidence from the National High School Exam, 2019-2021, to compete in the 21st CNPq Outstanding Introductory Scientific Research Awards.
The students whose papers were nominated by their schools will receive a certificate for Best Introductory Scientific Research Paper in the 2022-2023 FGV-CNPq Program at their respective school. Alan Gayger will receive a certificate for Best Introductory Scientific Research Paper in the 2022-2023 FGV-CNPq Program at the whole of FGV. These certificates will be presented by FGV’s president, Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, and its vice president, Clóvis de Faro.
